Vinicunca, also called “The Mountain of 7 Colors” or Rainbow Mountain Peru. It is a new tourist attraction near Cusco, Peru, located in the province of Quispicanchis.
Forgotten by everyone until a few years ago, it has now become very popular. And the best part is that you can visit it in one day.
According to locals, this mountain and the surrounding ones were covered with snow a few decades ago, and because of global warming, the snow has disappeared leaving them exposed and showing us an incredible view, and not just the view of the mountains, but also the Apu Ausangate, Cusco’s highest snowy peak.
ITINERARY:
CUSCO TO CUSIPATA: We will pick you from your Hotel in Cusco up at 6:00 AM. Our private transport will take us from the south of Cusco to the town of Cusipata. The transport will take us for 1 hour and 45 minutes towards the Cusco-Sicuani highway. We will arrive at our Private Lodge. When we arrive, we will serve you a good breakfast that we will enjoy in group in our ample dining room; here you can use the hygienic services.
After enjoying our breakfast, we will leave at 8:30 in the morning in our private transport to the “Rainbow Mountain” by the route “Cusipata” for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes; to arrive at the town of Llactoc.
In this trip we will be accompanied by a beautiful landscape where we will enjoy the company of wildlife of the place as herds of Alpacas and the company of traditional villages, in addition to a beautiful landscape typical of the Peruvian highlands.
At this point our adventure will take its best experience; we will make a pleasant hike for 1 hour and a half; this walk will be beautifully accompanied by snowy whites and breathtaking landscapes; in addition to enjoying herds of alpacas beautifully adorned by their owners; if you wish you can take pictures with them and support to the owners of these animals.
After this walk, we will be arriving to the “Rainbow Mountain”, which from the highest part you will be able to enjoy this mountain that with this so peculiar aspect. After making a free walk and enjoying the beautiful landscape and taking many photos, we will take the road back for 1 hour and a half arriving at Llactoc and then take our transport to our Private Lodge, then return to Cusco arriving at approximately 5:00 pm.
